Solano County Government Center
| Fairfield, California, United States |
Consolidating all its county functions, the Solano County Government Center consists of a 6-story, 300,000 sq.ft. administration building, coupled with a 5-level parking garage equipped with a solar electric system and electric vehicle hook-ups, plus adjacent 2-story 43,000 sq.ft. probation building and 25,000 sq.ft public plaza.
The sleek administration business opened in 2005, designed by Clark Design Build of California, a joint venture of Clark Construction Group and Kaplan McLaughlin Diaz (KMD) architects. The steel-framed, glass-sheathed buildings look is marked by a distinctive 6-story inverted pyramid at the main entrance. There is also a large double-height oval lobby anchored by a monumental staircase and broad landings. |
