Farrar Residence
| Park City, Utah, United States |
The steep slope of the terrain and wide views of the surrounding landscape were essential in defining the form of this 13,000 sq. ft. house. Two linear volumes intersect at the main living space connecting the guest and master wings. The pool volume continues into the forest, ending as it cantilevers over a seasonal creek. The material choices compliment the natural setting, and include wood siding, concrete walls, stone masses and expanses of glass create.
The home is full of amazing features, but the most remarkable is the 82 ft. (25 m.) lap pool that cantilevers over a stream, with an acrylic panel that extends from the pool bottom to the stainless steel ceiling and aquarium glass at the end. Designed by Bohlin Cywinski Jackson, this firm is known for the design of the home of Bill Gates outside of Seattle, and several of the Apple stores throughout the United States. |
