archhis Mission

As a student of architecture in the 80's, I have always had an obsession with architecture and architectural history. Life took a different turn, but that obsession is still there. In order to share my obsession, archhis was created. The goal of archhis is simple: display buildings from around the world, provide profiles of architects and architectural firms, while highlighting the photographers that make visualization of architecture possible.

archhis is not a solo project, meaning I need your help! I would like to include buildings from worldwide firms and architects, photos and basic details, historical photos and descriptions, architect profiles, and additional information leading to a robust, information filled, and visually complete journey through architecture. Participation is encouraged, at no charge. The site does not contain news, nor blog commentary, nor extensive photos, nor detailed floor plans; there are enough fantastic sites for that (please see our recommendations) - archhis contains a visual history of architecture.

archhis is a work in progress and plans are on the boards for many additional features, tools, applications, etc. to make the visual journey through architecture informative and enjoyable, yet not distract from the primary focus: architecture.

If interested, please forward archhis as much information as possible including appropriate permissions. The architect, firm, company, photographer, etc. will be appropriately credited with each item of information and each photo, with links back to the necessary website. In a sense, consider archhis a free advertising medium. And as you find errors or omissions, please forward them to us. We're human, we make mistakes!
